Uncertainty in Design and Service Life of Civil Engineering Structures
Engineering structures are complex systems which have uncertain properties and are subject to uncertain loads and influences. The aim of this minisymposium is to discuss the application of probabilistic and non-probabilistic approaches in the design, management, health monitoring and service life estimation of civil engineering structures. This session contributes to the discussion on theoretical and practical issues concerning the application of different kinds of uncertainties to the problems of engineering structures with special focus on the reliability, risk, sensitivity and vulnerability-based analysis.
Papers dealing with the main topic of the mini-symposium are invited especially those concerning engineering structures:
- Uncertainty in the identification of structural parameters,
- Uncertainty in the structure safety and reliability analysis,
- Uncertainty in the prediction of structural failure.
